Angie Smith x Free People

I am so excited to share with you my collaboration with Free People. I wanted to create an edit of clothes that I wear day to day, casual basics and pieces that mix and match together sticking to my ‘buy less, wear more’ way of dressing. I hope you love the edit as much as I loved creating it, can’t wait to hear what you think and if you do buy something then please tag me in any outfit posts so I can re-post on IG stories.

The Statement Shirt / 188 (L)

This is your statement shirt for Autumn, wear open over a white tee with jeans or on it’s own tucked into high waisted denim and when it gets a bit colder, layer over a brown, black, cream or a red turtleneck for a cool 70s look.

The Plaid Skirt / 118 (US8)

This skirt is amazing, like one of those ones you will have in your wardrobe forever, it’s a bit 90’s a bit highland fling and you’ll wonder how you lived without. It’s super flattering (bias cut) soft like a slinky fleece PJ fabric and goes with so much, I’m loving it styled with the chunky jumper and biker boots or with the tee layered over the thermal (see below) with socks and Birkenstocks.

The Chunky Knit / 158 (L)

Everyone needs a chunky cream jumper in their wardrobe and I love the slight swing to this shape. It skims and doesn’t cling which makes it super flattering and versatile. I would wear it with a long bias cut skirt and chunky boots for an effortless weekend, trip to the pub look or with jeans / cords and clogs for an elevated off-duty look. I love how a statement jumper can instantly make a simple jeans, tee and clogs look feel that bit more special, just add a cool bag (see cross body style below)

The Bermuda Short / 118 (30)

The shape that I can’t believe I’ve only just fallen in love with, uber flattering and perfectly suited to the in-between seasons, wear with chunky boots and even chunkier jumpers to balance out the silhouette, would also look cute with a strapless top, blazer and strappy sandals.

The Cream (softest) Denim Jacket / 88 (M)

The Cream Wide Leg Jeans / 88 (30)

This jacket and jeans (sold separately) make up the best co-ord.  Which is a really easy way to instantly elevate your look esp on those days that you don’t want to think too much about what you are wearing, the effect is kind of like a boiler suit.  This set is made from the softness denim and I already know that I will be wearing this jacket a lot, If has a really cool back swing detail that gives it movement.

The Perfect White Tee / 34 (M)

A simple white tee had to be on this edit, I wear them a lot. Layer under a sweater or jumper with the neck showing for that pop of bright giving a modern update and slight androgynous tone to your look.  Layer under shirts again to give a modern edge and to make your look more versatile when the weather isn’t making up it’s mind.  I love wearing mine with white jeans and trainers with the checked shirt tied around my hips or a sweater on my shoulders.

The Fleece Checked Shirt / 118 (M)

Super cozy and in the prettiest pastel.  As soon as Autumn hits the checked shirts in my wardrobe get a lot of wear. I love how this one is slightly thicker so it works well styled as a jacket / extra layer as well as tucked in and worn as a classic shirt. I love styling it with track pants as well as denim, cords, worn open, one button done up or buttoned up and tucked in. This is a timeless piece that can exist in every wardrobe.

The Chunky Clogs / 60 (41/42)

I haven’t had these off my feet, they are SO comfy and have the ability to make any outfit feel instantly cooler, they look best contrasted with light coloured items, see cream denim co-ord, the white denim skirt, pale denim but would look equally great and they also work well worn with chunky cream socks and the bias cut check skirt.

The Perfect Jeans with or without a turn up / 320 (28)

I’ve been wearing this style of denim for a while now and love the vintage wash, loose shape around the hips and thighs and perfect wide / straight leg. They are SO flattering and work well worn casually or dressed up.

The Cross Body Bag / 88

If you aren’t familiar with the genius powers of a CB then I urge you to get involved.  I’ve worn one in this style now for over a year and it’s changed my life in a hands free kinda way.  This is an essential piece of kit of you are a mum to a dog/child ! And the best bit is it looks cool and adds interest to your look.

The Suede Waistcoat / 328 (M) - Comes as a set

Replace that linen style you’ve been wearing all Summer with this pretty brown suede number, on warmers days layer over a tee and as the nights get colder layer over a turtleneck and team with indigo, black or cream denim.

The White Denim Maxi-skirt / 108 (14)

White denim skirt, the skirt version of the above jeans, style in the same way, I love the gentle bell shape of this skirt, it feels very Scandi cool and when it gets colder there is nothing more striking and timeless than styling white denim with a black turtleneck.

The Vintage Style Sweatshirt in ‘Banana Milk’ / 88 (M)

The Vintage Style Sweatpants in ‘Banana Milk’ / 88 (L)

I love a good vintage style tracksuit and this one is the dream.  The shade is incredible, like a kinda pale / sandy banana, with it’s faded seams and pretty details it’s looks great as a set (my new WFH go to) and equally good worn as separates, I’ll be wearing the top with my Happiness Runs bike shorts and the bottoms with a tee and the checked shirt from the edit or the cream denim jacket.

The Goes With Everything Belt / 32 (M/L)

I think it’s so hard to find a good belt, I love this style as you get so much length you can play around with it and wrap it around itself. You literally cannot fail to make it look chic and it’s for breaking up large expanses of fabric like A/W jumper dresses.

The Biker Boots / 448 (41)

There is no quicker way to make an outfit that you’re not sure about feel instantly cool than by adding biker boots and these are perfect, comfy from the off and literally go with everything !!

The Cream Knitted Dress / 68 (M)

A simple cream knitted long sleeved dress is such a great piece as it can be dressed up or down, super comfortable and perfect for colder days, toughen up the look by adding chunky black biker boots or keep it simple with clogs and socks, add definition to your shape with a waistcoat or black / dark brown bag.
