At the beginning of every season I always try and think about what I actually ended up wearing at the same time the year before. It’s so easy to get carried away with all the newness that appears online and in the stores but if you want to make sure you are going to wear what you buy (and lots of times over) then I would create a little moodboard of the shapes, styles and colours that you ended up wearing / enjoyed wearing the most. When it comes to transitional dressing for me that’s always been about investing in great jumpers, sweatshirts, t-shirts, casual jackets, shirts, well cut trousers, track pants and jeans. There are things that will always be on your wish list, for example I’ve always wanted some cool corduroy trousers and a jacket, I already know that I’ll wear these and they will work with lots of what I already own as they are kinda from the same family as jeans and a denim jacket and these items I know I wear these lots. I’ve also wanted to introduce a bit of colour into my wardrobe for the colder months esp as this Summer I enjoyed wearing some brighter pieces than I would have usually gravitated towards so that’s also on my list.
